Come on. These posters have got to come around to the idea of not paying any taxes while somebody or somebody in a different country does. I like it!

That's a feature, not a bug.
Remember - The founders were so diametrically opposed to the concept of the income tax that it took a constitutional amendment just to legalize the practice.

Consumption tax is far better, but getting rid of the income tax is the right answer. Most of Treasury's budget is for the IRS, about $10B/yr. Get rid of the income tax and you get rid of the IRS and save that money. It would also put a stop to hiring any more of those 87,000 additional agents, which will make the IRS budget explode. If each agent costs you $200k/yr, which they will after salary, benefits, medical, retirement, office space, computers etc...then you are looking at an extra $17B/yr just for those additional agents.
So, getting rid of the income tax is really a savings of about $25B/yr compared to current projections for the IRS and its growth.

Awesome, and for those that say the tariffs will be passed down to the consumer, it's win win. Everybody will be paying their fair share and no one will have an income tax. Now only 50% pay federal taxes.
Bonus is the irs can be cut to the bone.

I'm all for any massive overhaul of government that includes abolishing any part of it. The National Retail Sales Tax is something that I'm wildly passionate about and have written about it extensively here on TD. (I know this OP is about tariffs, but if we're gonna tank the IRS, let's be thorough).
Many folks (Trump included as he went after DeSantis) have misrepresented it as being a 23% tax on top of the current retail prices we encounter, but that's not accurate in the least. The price of new consumer goods would stay pretty much where they are. The major difference is that you'd be buying them with your entire paycheck, not "take home pay".
