Even though the games wasn't released yet when I first started on this project, I just felt disappointed at the lack of Melty Blood screenpacks out there especially since there's no Hi-res versions of them available. With that in mind I decided to put my money where my mouth is make a screenpack based off one of my favorite games.

To install this screenpack just unpack the file into your desktop then replace each folder with the appropriate file in your mugen folder.

This screenpack is based off the Type-Moon fighting game Melty Blood Actress Again which a spin-off of the visual Novel Tsukihime. There are 4 versions of this screenpack which you can use: The normal version, the custom version which uses custom small and big portraits to help make it look more like the source game, the larger custom which provides even more slots to the custom version, and the custom normal which is a combination of both the normal and custom version (hence the name).

The Custom select version is set by default, though you can change the version you want to use.

- In order to use each of these versions properly then simply open up your mugen.cfg in your data folder and look for this:

;motif = data/NormalSelect/system2.def
;motif = data/LargerCustom/system3.def
;motif = data/CustomNormal/system4.def

- Includes pre-made custom lifebar and select portraits for the custom version as well as a template if you feel like creating some yourself. They're already in pcx format so there's no need in trying to convert them.

1. To add the select screen portraits simply open up your character's sff file and
place them as 9000,1 with an offset of 0,0.

2. To add the small portraits, open up the character's sff file and place them as 9000,0 with an offset of 0,0. The colors of the small portrait will be messed up, but they will look normal during the select screen.

3. To add the lifebar portraits, open up the character's sff file and place the portrait at the very end of the sff file as 9000,11 with an offset of 0,0.

- The normal slot version of the screenpack is set by default, but if you want to use any other version then add a semi-colon on the motif with the normal select and take out the semi-colon of the one you want to use.

- This screenpack is also bundled with the Melty Blood Actress Again lifebars which has already been set as the default lifebar that your mugen will use, though you can use any lifebar you see fit. Not only are the lifebars included with the screenpack, but also the opening movie of Actress Again which makes your Mugen even more like Melty Blood. Don't worry though I'll also be releasing these separately just incase people wants one of the items listed yet feel too bothered to download the entire screenpack just to get the lifebars for example.

This is my version of the Melty Blood Actress Again lifebars. Just like the rest of the Melty Blood lifebars out there, your mugen needs to be set in DR4 in order for them to look properly on the screen.

Another thing that this lifebar has in common with the rest is the use of custom portraits which can be placed in the character's SFF file with a group number of 9000 and a sprite number of 11 with an offset of 0,0. These lifebars come with pre-made custom portraits which are already in pcx format, just place them in the character's SFF file like previously stated. If you feel the need to make some yourself I have taken the liberty of giving you a template in the form of a screenshot. Trust me, it's much easier than it sounds when making these.

Opening movie from Melty Blood Actress Again. This opening has already been added into the system.def so it can play whenever you start up your mugen, though if you want to remove it just open up your sytem.def file and look for this under [Files]:

intro.storyboard = "mbaa_op/mbaa_mp3.def"

Just remove the part with quotations.

There are two versions of this Opening, an mp3 version and an ogg version each with it's own music file. To use the ogg version, replace the part with mbaa_mp3 to mbaa_ogg.

The templates are already included in the file. Just check the appropriate file containing each of the portraits.
